Many young people in Bangladesh acquire some degree of basic education but remain idle and unemployed due to lack of recognised skills, no higher education qualifications and shortage of opportunities. Over time these youths become more and more disenfranchised from society and will often become involved in anti-social activities and crime.

SAHM Trust runs a vocational training centre with the aim to impart free skills development training to youths from less fortunate families. Since 2011 SAHM Trust has been providing training in three disciplines; IT and computing, sewing and mobile phone repairs.
